It’s a Christmas miracle. After 3 years as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, John Boehner seems to finally have found his missing balls.
Apparently, Boehner has had enough. Yesterday, he publicly shared his frustration with the far right conservative group’s latest efforts to derail the bipartisan budget deal struck between Re. Paul Ryan R-Wis. and Rep. Patty Murray D-Wash.
Referring to The Club For Growth, Heritage Action and Americans for Prosperity Boehner said:
“They’re using our members and they’re using the American people for their own goals,” an animated Boehner told reporters at the Capitol. “This is ridiculous.”
Today, he went nuclear.
“Well, frankly, I think they’re misleading their followers. I think they’re pushing our Members where they don’t want to be. And Frankly, I just think they’ve lost all credibility.”
I had to replay the video several times. I thought that perhaps my ears were deceiving me.
“They pushed us into this debate to try and defund Obamacare…That wasn’t the strategy I had in mind.”
He concluded with the words I’ve been wanting to hear for years when asked ‘Are you effectively asking these groups to stand down?’:
“I don’t care what they do.”
Now, if we can just help him find his heart and get him to pass ENDA in order to end the discrimination against the LGBT Community.
